Course Description

Take your first step toward this more adaptive framework for project leadership. This course from the Scrum Alliance introduces the concepts of Agile project leadership using the Scrum methodology. Taking this course and the corresponding evaluation designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team.

Learner Outcomes

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify the five values of Scrum and the eight essential Scrum principles
  • Understand Scrum’s relationship to the Agile manifesto
  • Explain each piece of the Scrum framework, its purpose and its interaction with the other pieces of the framework
  • Illustrate the three roles and their responsibilities in a Scrum team, and how they interact with each other to deliver the product increment within a sprint
  • Facilitate Scrum meetings effectively, such as daily Scrum (stand-up), sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives
  • Complete the accompanying test to achieve Certified ScrumMaster designation

Notes

After completing the course, you can take the 50-question Certified ScrumMaster test. To pass, you must answer 37 of the 50 questions correctly within the 60-minute time limit.

After passing the CSM test, you will be asked to accept the CSM License Agreement and complete your Scrum Alliance membership profile.

THIS IS A VIRTUAL COURSE--Attendee can participate from a location of their choosing. The live instructor teaches the course and provides the opportunity for remote attendees to participate in discusses and exercises with both in-person and remote attendees. Some courses involve hands-on activities and labs. These activities are performed via a secure cloud-accessible environment. Live online courses are through Zoom; Video camera, microphone and speakers are necessary to participate in this class.

CANCELLATION POLICY

A full refund will be given when a registrant cancels more than five (5) business days prior to the start of the class. Cancellations received within 5 business days of the start of the class and no-shows will be billed in full. Another person may be substituted at any time at no additional charge.
A request to transfer a class to a future date can only occur if the request is more than 5 business days prior to the start of class.  Otherwise, the request will be considered a cancellation and the policy will apply.
